About
Company History
Faded Pictures Designs was started by designer and developer Bret Robertson in 1998. He's been designing for the web since the mid 1990s. Faded Pictures started as a moniker under which Bret produced some short films while in college.
The name might imply that we restore old photos. We don't.
The name was inspired by The Smashing Pumpkins song Where Boys Fear to Tread off of their Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness album. We thought the name sounded cool, in a kind of mysterious and avante-garde sort of way. That's what we like tell ourselves anyway.
Personal
Bret's a creative guy, he's a graphic designer and developer, and has been building websites since the mid 1990s. He has worked with companies and institutions large and small, including, Biola University, Disney, Speakeasy, Inc., Kodak, and Cox Communications.
A graduate of Biola University, Bret has a degree in Communications. After college, Bret worked in the television industry for a few years before moving into graphic and web design.
When not working, Bret enjoys life offline with his family and friends, a good meal, a glass of wine, and his pug, Duke.
